BeatBot is a handy little utility to help you analyze the BPM, beats
per minute, of your music. BeatBot can analyze any song in
your iTunes collection(non-DRM) or listen through the a mic to the
outside world and tell the beat that's playing around you.

Detection By Tapping: Tapping is often the
quickest and most accurate way of determining bpm.

Detection By Algorithm: BeatBot
uses highly sophisticated, optimized frequency domain analysis
for beat detection and can process any non-DRM song in iTunes.
Ambient
BPM Detection: Use the built-in mic on iPhones
and +4g iPods or an external headset mic on any device to perform the
same beat detection on incoming audio. Every 20 sec, BeatBot
will evaluate and give you the result Very accurate for dance
music or anything with a consistent, steady beat.
Spectral
Analysis: Just for fun, we've added a spectral
analysis of the mic input. You can get an accurate frequency
breakdown of the audio coming through the microphone, if you're into
that sort of thing ;).
AudioCopy/AudioPaste
Integration: BeatBot
integrates with the SonomoWorks AudioCopy/Paste framework. Copy audio
from other applications into BeatBot and analyze their beat. Then paste
the beat value back to the clipboard.
